My uncle told me that a radio presenter (Can’t remember his name) phoned Billie Joe Armstrong at midnight on the 1st of October and woke him up, only to make jokes about how he woke him up because September ended. He laughed and I told him about the meaning of the song and why that was a shitty thing to do which shut him up.
